Our Place in Creation
We tend to think that we are on top of the food chain, and that we are all mighty and powerful. “I alone can fix everything” said Mr. Donald Trump at one of his recent campaign speeches.I would like to suggest to Mr. Trump to earnestly reflect on that statement. When we lose sight of our vulnerability and our place in the big scheme of things we open a channel (lust for power and fame, jealousy, covetousness, and other) in our mind and our soul, we let Satan in and allow him to lead us and manipulate us like marionettes to do his bidding. For our soul’ sake we’d better snap out of it and do a reality check because arrogance is certainly not a trait or attribute of God. These are scary times and we all seem to be behaving as if we are going to live forever. We are ignoring climate change, global epidemics, super bugs, viruses, and bacteria that are now claiming the rank of ‘Top of the food chain.’
We can continue to be oblivious to the precariousness of life. We can continue to seek the thrills of life and seek to be entertained and made to laugh even at the expanse of others. We can continue to enjoy everything that life has to offer following the adage “If it feels good go for it!” God gave us ‘Free Will’, the right to choose what we want and what makes us happy. Only, He also gave us rules, directives, and commandments to follow if we choose to to spend Eternity with Him. When we do not follow His Rules, His directives, and His commandments, we are making a choice by default, to not spend Eternity with Him in paradise. And sure, that is also a choice and a prerogative for any one not desiring eternity with God.
Being human is a complicated thing, and a real struggle. Within us is the potential to rise to uncharted heights of goodness and also to sink to the lowest ranks of depravity. Within us are all the ingredients that facilitate both tendencies. Intentions and motives are the gears that direct us either way.
I am really curious to know the true nature of the intentions and motives of those who are currently wreaking havoc in the land, committing acts of murder, genocide, and terrorizing people around the globe.
I would like to tell them “Please! Wake up and read the Book you claim to use as the source of your inspiration, and also read about beloved prophet Mohammad’s exemplary life of compassion, tolerance, forbearance, kindness, and justice. Learn how he followed Allah’s commands and did not declare war on the polytheists until God gave him permission. Is God talking to you?
In Sourat Al An-aam (Chapter 6:108 of the Qur’an) God asks the believers to not even insult the polytheists’ God. “And do not insult those they invoke others than Allah, lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them about what they used to do.” So what makes you think that God wants you to go around killing people?
Prophet Mohammad did not send suicide bombers to implode themselves in souks, mosques, market places, and in different countries to kill themselves –which is sinful (haram) by Allah’s decree– and to kill other lives without due justice; which is a major sin in Allah Holy Book, Qur’an.
Why would you choose verses where God gave permission to his prophet Mohammad (PBUP) and his followers to go back to Makkah and declare battle (not massacre, murder, and assassinations) on those who had previously persecuted him and his followers and stripped them of their belongings and kicked them out of their homes and their city, as an inspiration for your deeds, but not what Allah said in Sourat Al Imran (Chapter 3:104) which translates into:
“And let there be [arising] from among you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.”
Please! Check within your hearts. Are you acting from frustration, misdirected anger, resentment, or jealousy ? Are you acting from any sentiment that Allah would condemn? Please! Use what the messenger of Allah describes as the most beautiful thing Allah gave to man, namely, the ability to reason. And do not follow the counsel of Shaytan (Satan) who makes those who go astray think that they are rightly guided. Allah warns us about Satan’s deceit and his enmity even more incessantly in the Qur’an than in any of his previous Holy Books.
To all my brothers and sisters of the family of mankind I’d like to say.
If you were asked to choose between 2 options:
To live your whole life in absolute bliss and have all that your heart desire of material things to spend and dispose of as you please without any limitations, rules, or restrictions, but when you die you go straight to hell.
To accept whatever God gives you now in this life, submit to His will for as long as you live, accept His decree, and do as much good as you possibly can in your life so that you can live in total bliss and have all that your heart desires, where there will be no restrictions, no limitations, and no evil of any kind, in paradise for eternity.
